I have to admit, I’ve caved a little bit. My completely natural approach is still happening, but I was getting more and more miserable looking in the mirror each morning as I seem to be going through some sort of “cycle” where the spots are coming up quicker than ever. I make myself sound so attractive don’t I? Gorgeous.
I took myself off to the GP to get the antibiotic prescription that the dermatologist prescribed, it’s usually used for urinary tract infections(?) but he’s put me on a high dose for 6 weeks (less time & a LOT less side effects than the other drugs) both the GP & the pharmacist were surprised by the dose & the fact it was being used for skin, which I’ve got to say, made me a bit nervous, but I couldn’t go on with the acne like it was.
Two days later? My chin has really started to clear up, brilliantly so. The husband noticed this morning, and with make up on you can hardly see any spots/scars at all (I’m tackling the scarring issue next week).
So, whether it’s a combination of the fish oils & antibiotics, plus the food removal, or if it’s just down to the antibiotics clearing up what was already there, I’m hoping it’s a sign of things to come.
Of course, I could find that once I stop the antibiotics they all come back again, but the plan is to spend the time I’m taking them building up the healthy reserves, fish oil, probiotics, good food, plenty of water and fresh air, and maybe, just maybe, there might be a light at the end of this spotty tunnel.
