Finding something that keeps them quiet
Even if it’s just for half an hour. It’s not something that happens often in this house, if I find an activity that keeps one happy and quiet, the other one isn’t interested, probably (definitely) down to the big age gap, what a 10 year old girl finds fun, a 3.5 year old boy finds really boring and vice versa. So when Galt Toys offered us some goodies during the half term I think I was more excited than they were! Going through the website there were so many different toys and activities to choose from, and if I’d left it to the kids to pick GG would have taken at least a week to decide (she doesn’t like having too much choice, it takes forEVER for her to pick something) and the dude would have wanted one of everything (he has NO problem deciding what he wants!)
In the end I went with the First Octons Construction Set for the due & Cupcake Baking Set for GG as she is still obsessed with making cakes after her party. I’m pretty sure I played with the octons things when I was younger, they look very familiar, anyone else remember them?
They both arrived a couple of days later, and they were a massive hit. The dude sat on the floor happily for ages building all sorts of bizarre shapes, that he told me were dinosaurs, planes & bikes (honestly, couldn’t see it myself but I took his word for it…) and GG was in a major rush to make some cakes!
The cake set is fab, it comes with a mini muffin tray, cupcake cases, a wooden spoon, whisk, measuring spoons, icing set and little menu cards (wipe clean, thank god!) so she was pretty much good to go without any help from me. All I did was the oven side of things! She’s not a bad little baker, and I think I’ll be requesting some more in the future!
Galt Toys have free P&P on all purchases at the moment, just the code DELP1210, valid until 31st December, perfect for xmas pressies! Yeah, I said the X word…….
