Fashion For Good Weekender
As much as I hate to be a stereotypical woman, when it comes to fashion and shopping I hold my hands up high in the air (adorned in my Michael Kors watch with pretty nails I’d like to add) and admit that I am a complete and utter shopaholic. I love everything about fashion, from buying to reading to watching. It is to me, what cycling is to the husband, what Jake and the Neverland Pirates are to the Dude, and what The Wanted are to GG, it’s my happy fix. So you can imagine how excited I was to be invited to Fashion For Good’s red carpet launch party this weekend! You can also imagine how gutted I was when I realised I couldn’t make it, but that’s another story!
Fashion for Good was set up by a group of Surrey mums who were passionate about highlighting and helping the difficulties faced by women, children and families living in the area. Founder Kat Vitou contacted The Community Foundation for Surrey to offer her, and her friends support, resulting in Fashion For Good. They wanted to make a change, raise money and inject a little (a lot) of glamour in the process.
Last year they raised over £20,000 and this year they want to raise even more. Held at Brooklands Hotel in Weybridge, Surrey. Friday night sees the launch party for 150 guests hosted by Nick Ede, a chance to bid for some amazing auction prizes, I’ve seen a Mulberry Alexa bag mentioned on their twitter stream, and a DJ to go through til late. It’s ticket only for this one so don’t just turn up!
On Saturday 10th November some of the best up and coming fashion and beauty brands from Surrey & London will be taking part in an all day department store & pamper experience. As well as over 40 different boutiques, there is also the chance to get a new look with a session with a top stylist – £20 for a 30 minute slot, £15 for a blow dry with Anita Cox McMillian and her husband Thomas. The Mary Portas range will be there, along with Wild about Beauty from Louise Redknapp (love this brand!) Reflexology, Indian head massage tasters, mini manicures, and all of it raising money for five different local charities.
It’s free entry and doors open at 10am on Saturday 10th November. I will be heading down there as soon as I can. More details can be found on their website Fashion For Good
