Pigs By Kids

By Katie — November 04, 2012

Back at my parents house, I have 5 Nat West pigs sitting on a shelf in perfect condition. If you grew up in the 80′s then you’ll know the pigs I’m talking about. I loved collecting them when I was younger, even without the thought that they might be a collectors item when I grew up. And no Dad, they’re definitely still mine!! Nine tenths of the law doesn’t apply to pigs, I checked.

Anyway! I was asked if the kids would like to take part in a new competition with NatWest to design a new pig, they’re bringing them back and they want the winning pig to be designed by a child!

There are no rules for the design, it can be a drawing, painting, model, collage, anything at all, so the kids can literally go crazy and do whatever they like!

NatWest sent us an amazing craft set to use for our designs and it came during half term, just when we were all starting to get on each others nerves a little bit, but this kit kept them busy for hours and that is no mean feat! Obviously we can’t show you our finished designs, because, well, we want to be in with a chance of winning, but here is a sneak peak of what we’ve been up to….

All I can say is SuperPig…..!

Will you be taking part? Imagine if one of my kids pigs won & in 30 years time was also a collectors item?!

Competition Guidelines:

For children up to 13 years old

The winning design will become the new NatWest pig

Closing date 11th November
