The perfume hunt
Back in the summer (wow, that long ago?) I was on the hunt for a new perfume having just run out of my favourite, but I had no idea what one I wanted to go for. I’d done the usual, spraying onto strips and seeing which I liked the most, but, and I’m not sure if it’s because I’m a redhead, but perfume never seems to last very long on me, no matter how much I use, which is bloody annoying when you’ve spent a good £60+ on it. It also never really smells like the strip once it’s on skin.
Step in Beauty Works West. They sent me a bottle of Neotantric Perfume in Killer Honey & I have finally called off the perfume hunt. Firstly, because I love the scent so much and secondly because it’s not one of those perfumes that every single person is wearing, almost like a little perfume secret, so it really stands out & it’s the perfect signature smell for me.
Neotantric Fragrances is a new line from Sweden & the founders wanted to combine playfulness & forbidden fantasies with a bit of heart (anything with those words is going to catch my attention lets be honest!) The name refers to the words Neotantra, which is a modern version of Tantra, a phrase for different types of sacred sexuality that might use unorthodox practices. The bottle is designed to let curious perfume loves sneak a peak into the world of tantra…. Serious thought has gone into this perfume brand, and the story behind it is enough to draw me in, perfume is all about creating a feeling from a scent, and Neotantric definitely does that.
I have to confess, I don’t usually pay attention to what notes are used in my favourite perfumes, but for those of you who do, Killer Honey has top notes of pink peppercorn and ylang ylang which quickly evaporate and get replaced by jasmine, peach and patchouli, with a base of must, cistus & rose. Sounds sexy just written down doesn’t it?
There are other perfumes in the range, including an aftershave for men, Manic Love for Gentlemen. They’re all avaialble at Beauty Works West & cost between £65-£75
please note I was sent a bottle of this perfume as a gift, not as a review item but I love it & wanted to tell you about it cos I’m good like that.
