Cupcake Party Baby!
On saturday GG had her birthday party, her 10th birthday party that is, seriously, no matter how many times I say it I still can’t believe my little girl is almost ten. (I don’t look old enough do I….!?)
We wanted to do something special for her 10th, I still remember mine, a big party at home, cutting a massive slab of chocolate with a knife and fork while wearing gloves/hats/scarves/shoes! Hands up if you remember that? (We were saying that game should definitely be bought back to parties!) Anyway, after a flick through Facebook I came across Cupcakes By Claire.
Claire comes to your house with 4 cupcakes per child (or adult, I’m so booking one for me!) and teaches them how to decorate the cakes, and when I say decorate I don’t mean a splodge of icing and a bit of hundreds and thousands *cough, me? never* I mean, garden scenes, roses, handbags and shoes, lipsticks, a dome effect, a 99 ice cream WITH a flake! The girls were loving it! I have NEVER been to a party where every single child was concentrating so much there wasn’t a sound from them! They all made 4 beautiful cakes to take home, and loved every second of it! Poor Claire may have had to buy some more edible glitter when she left (8 girls & glitter do mix well) but it was such a good party. GG is already planning on having another party next year, and I know that I’m going to be booking an adult one for some reason or another! I just need to figure out what that reason is!
If you’re in the Surrey area (within reason) and you have kids that love this sort of thing, you have to check out the website & her FB page, she’s fab & her cakes are A-MAZING.
ps this is NOT a sponsored or guest post, I just love Claire!

Reply →Thanks Katie! Im so pleased that Holly and the girls enjoyed this party! I have to say I never get tired of doing them and it gives the kids a chance to be really creative and the parents a break from having to entertain or clear up! I look forward to our 'adult cupcake party' with a glass or 2 ;) Happy baking Claire xx
