Fashion for Home have an opportunity especially for you! Whether you are simply a customer, or an amateur designer, Fashion for Home have a competition which could see your vision become a reality.

Applicants must upload their design via Design Hub, an internet program the company use to receive and judge the designs. Once your design is upload customers will vote on it. You will be able to see feedback on your design as customers offer advice and submit reviews. Enough positive feedback and you may grab the attention of Fashion for Home itself, who will then offer to manufacture and sell your product. Of course, you then receive a commission on every one of your products sold. It could turn out to be a little money earner if enough interest is garnered, which whilst living in the economic climate we are could be extremely useful.

Before designing the product a little bit of customer research might be prudent. Fashion For Home offer products with a minimalist theme, at times with a vintage edge but at all time stylish and fashionable. There would be no use uploading a product to design hub that only you thought was a stylish piece. Knowing the market is essential to designing a piece that people will like and buy. Another factor to bear in mind is Fashion For Home’s sustainability project. They try to minimise use of materials which are harmful to the environment, so a piece made completely of fibre glass might not be such a good idea. Remember, they want products they can sell too. Think stylish, fashionable and sustainable.
