I was recently sent some Organic Surge products to try, the Gentle Meadow Hand & Nail Cream, Body Lotion and Hand wash. As their name suggests, each product is pretty natural – 100% free of harsh chemicals, contains no parabens, artificial fragrances or colourants and has no genetically modified ingredients. (How scary do those ingredients sound anyway?!) But aside from their natural approach, they are massively into their charity work, every single product sold contributes to support Africa’s most vulnerable children, they take an unusually hands-on approach to charity work and have been known to send one of their team into a troubled area to give help directly at source. Their work with the charities they support helps to provide accommodation, food, medical services, education and hope for the future. There aren’t many brands that can say that, and create products that are as good as their ethics.

I’ve never been a fan of hand cream, I don’t know if it’s because I’m forever on my iPhone or iPad and the left over residue stops me from being able to swipe and type, or if it’s because I hate my hands feeling dirty & so I’ve never got past the feel of hand cream being likened to dirty hands, either way, I must have at least 20 tubes around the house, in my bag & car and none of them get used. I was a little sceptical using this one, as it makes the claim many do, of being quickly absorbed. Giving it a go anyway (the smell is gorgeous) it did actually soak in quicker than I expected. I don’t think I’ll ever find a hand cream that moisturises and doesn’t feel like I have anything on my hands, but this is pretty close. It’s now on my desk, and actually gets used daily. Which is impressive! The hand wash has pride of place in the kitchen, it foams quickly but doesn’t leave my hands feeling squeaky (I know, I like clean hands but not stripped) and the body lotion is GORGEOUS! They all have the same lavender and geranium essential oil blend, but the thickness of the body lotion makes it feel like a proper relaxing treat. The husband has been kind enough to massage my legs several times with it after a long day and I can still feel the effects the next day.
