Philips Breakfast Collection & Me
I hate mornings. There is no polite way of saying it. I hate getting up, I hate having to talk to people the second I open my eyes, I hate having to get out of a warm bed to the sounds of “NO I WANT MY CHANNEL ON”
Once I’ve had a cup of tea, you may get more than attitude out of me! (I’d just like to point out, this is on a weekday, weekends I’m like a ray of sunshine every morning……) So, having a constant supply of tea bags, sweeteners and milk in this house is vital. When the kids are at school, the husband is dropped at the station and I’m sat at my desk, I can finally get a hot cup of tea made & drink it in peace. (I’m starting to sound like an old lady here aren’t?)
When Philips asked me if I wanted to get a lovely hamper full of breakfast goodies, as well as a kettle & toaster from their new Breakfast range, I literally jumped at the chance. Fortnum & Mason tea bags and jams would have been enough to make me swoon, but coupled with a gorgeous new kettle & matching toaster I was literally in tea lady heaven. We had a glass, clear kettle gracing our kitchen before and a toaster that we worked out was a wedding gift. 11 years ago!? How did that happen!? So when my new ones arrived it was straight out with the old and in with the new.
They come in a choice of colours, red, green & cream. I of course, went for cream. (I’d actually been eyeing up a cream kettle for a few weeks!) The toaster is what makes me happiest though. It has a setting where you can reheat the toast without re-cooking it! The amount of times my toast has popped up and I’ve been distracted by something or other, lego issues, hair not looking neat enough, where are my shoes, what’s in my lunchbox.. blah blah blah, meaning that when I get back to my toast it’s cold. Re-do it and it’s burnt. Not anymore! It’s like a revelation for me! It almost makes me happy to deal with children screaming at me… almost! The kettle is pretty & boils nice and quickly and is quiet! We’re in an open plan apartment, a noisy kettle is one of the most annoying appliances ever. It also has a washable anti-cac filter so it’s easier to keep clean.
So all in all, my kitchen looks prettier, my tea is fancy & doesn’t take forever to make and my toast is never burnt. Honestly, what could make a hectic morning any better!?
The toaster is available here and costs £42.00, the kettle here for £50.00
Big thank you to Philips for sending me the goodies, but of course, all words and opinions are my own.
