Baukjen

By Katie — October 02, 2012

Sometimes being a blogger & reading blogs gives me a sneaky peak into things I wouldn’t normally know about. I love fashion mags, but they don’t always apply to me, the clothes can be too expensive, or not something I would wear, working from home & being a mum of two, but blogs cater to everyone, there are the high fashion (no children) types and then there are the busy mums like me who have managed to stay stylish (I can be jealous & love the blog at the same time right?) There are a few fashion bloggers that I love catching up on, and I’ve been seen them all talking about Baukjen, so I wanted to take a look for myself.

Oh. My. God. If I could move into a catalogue/website this would be it. The clothes are to die for, everything is simple but stunning & even more amazingly, they look like they’re designed to be comfortable and wearable. I can covet as many high end things as I like, I’m never going to wear them, but Baukjen is another level. Created by Isabella Oliver, Baukjen was designed with a focus in creating understated, everyday looks that can be lived in. Minimum effort, maximum style.

I was sent the Zoe Knit Cardi in Berry, as part of my “get back to stylish” plan (I really should create a hashtag for that!) and I’ve worn it a few times now, every time someone has commented on it. I don’t know if it’s because the colour is so striking (especially with my red hair) or because it’s just  gorgeous, but it certainly gets attention. There is even a certain member of the family who tried to steal it….! It comes with a contrasting belt so it can be worn open or closed & drapes beautifully.

It’s the type of cardi that can be worn on a casual day out with the kids, or sitting at my desk (keeping warm & stylish? yes please) a day out shopping/usual mummy duties or dressed up with a sexy black dress & heels. Made from 23% merino & 5% cashmere this cardi is seriously soft. Is it wrong to love an item of clothing this much?

I would honestly wear every single one of these looks! Of course, I’d need to purchase a pair of Louboutin’s – but that’s every woman’s right isn’t it? To own a pair of Red Soles?

Zoe Knit Cardi throughout is available in Berry, Spicy Orange & Blue Ink and costs £119.00

Look 1: Freya Super Skinny Jeans, Clutch, Ash trainers, all from Baukjen. Blue T-shirt Dorothy Perkins.

Look 2: White T-shirt, Grey Leggings both Baukjen, white Converse from Office.

Look 3: Jessica Dress, Baukjen, Red Soles, where else!?

So, you’ll now hopefully be finding me filling my wardrobe with items from the collection, slowly but surely. And, like any good blogger, I’ll have to do my research, so if anyone finds me with a cup of tea and the latest Baukjen catalogue I can claim it’s all in the name of style.

Love love love that! £119 is still pricey, i think, but the amount of wear you'd get out of it makes it very justifyable (if that is even a word!) Thanks for sharing this super find! :-) xx

I don't think I've ever loved an entire collection before, there's always been a few bits I didn't like, not here! Literally, one of everything!
