World Food Fusion Taste Team Challenge 5!
This weeks challenge was Satay. Always a staple of most peoples takeaway orders!
It’s usually made with chicken, but it can be done with any meat, fish or even vegetarian foods, we stuck with the traditional and went with chicken.
Here’s what you need:
World Food Thai Turmeric Lemongrass marinade
250g chicken cut into strips
And for the satay peanut sauce:
1 bottle of Worldfoods Malaysian chili coconut marinade
150g roasted peanuts coarsely ground
1 tbsp oil.
You need to marinate the chicken for at least 3-4 hours, if not overnight in the fridge. Then thread the chicken onto skewers, baste them with some oil and more marinade and cook over a hot grill for 5-8 mins turning occasionally.
To make the sauce you need to heat 1tbsp of oil and add the peanuts, cooking for 1-2 mins until aromatic. Add the Chili & coconut marinade, bring to the boil. Serve warm as a dip with the skewers.
Voila! Another simple, quick recipe from the fab WorldFood team!! We didn’t follow the instructions completely as we didn’t have the peanut dip, so we used the Lemongrass marinade with our chicken and added a stir fry and some noodles, but it was still gorgeous! Everyone is loving these dishes!!
Keep and eye out for the next challenge!
