Week 4, and another challenge, this week is Nasi Goreng which means fried rice, and is the traditional dish of Indonesia.
Another simple, gorgeous recipe and, apart from the Pad Thai, I think this is my favourite so far.
All you need:
4 Tablespoons of Nasi Goreng Paste
3 Tablespoons of oil
200g Chicken strips
300g Cooked rice (the day before is best, but a few hours in advance if not)
Make an omelette with the eggs, leave to cool and shred thinly.
Heat the oil in the wok, and add the Nasi Goreng paste, cooking until its aromatic.
Add the chicken and cook for 5-8 mins
Add the prawns and cook for a further 3 mins
Finally add the rice, and cook together for another 5 mins, or until all cooked through and hot.
Place the shredded omelette on top.
Hey presto! Easy! The only thing I think we’ll do different next time, is add some veg of some sort, maybe some spring onions, mushrooms or something, but we will be having this again. It is quite spicy, but nothing major (no hiccups this week!) and its delish!
